What to expect

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt psychotherapy offers an genuine opportunity for people to engage in long term, inclusive, dialogical work to explore themselves and the relational patterns that recur in their lives. Gestalt Therapy is a profoundly compassionate form of therapy that creates a safe and supportive environment to work on self-esteem, relationships and anxiety to increase support and self-acceptance.

My clinical work is informed by an ongoing engagement with questions of identity, power, and social context. Outside the therapy room, I write about issues such as racial profiling and its psychological and relational impacts. This writing reflects my interest in how external systems and lived experience intersect with our inner emotional lives and well-being. In therapy, this translates into a thoughtful, non-assumptive approach that recognises both personal history, and the wider socio-political contexts in which people live.

How much do I charge?

I charge $150 for 50 minutes of face-to-face therapy on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Workers at CLCs, Not-for-Profits, hospitals and in some health care settings may be able to salary package their therapy costs. I recognise that it is a privilege to be able to pay for therapy. If you cannot afford this fee, you may be able to obtain quality low cost psychotherapy at GTA’s ConnectGround Clinic.

Please contact me to discuss fees for reflective practice/group work.

I charge a full fee for cancellations with less than 24 hour notice.

Where do I work?

I currently work on Wednesday mornings from Lygon Therapy at 622 Lygon St, Carlton North. This may expand to Tuesday and Friday mornings.

What does PACFA accreditation mean?

PACFA accreditation ensures that my practise complies with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia code of ethics.
